Naomi Porter, PA-C

Biography

Naomi Porter is the Physician's Assistant to Kimberly Safman, MD. Naomi is a New Jersey native, received her Bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. She worked as a scientist in several pharmaceutical companies prior to receiving her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Saint Francis University in 2007. She is a licensed and has received her National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and has been practicing Pain Management/Rehabilitation and worker’s compensation since 2007.

Ms. Porter strives to decrease her patients’ pain to help them perform their daily activities with minimal discomfort. “I believe that the most important part in medicine is establishing a patient-practitioner relationship in order to effectively treat each patient’s medical needs individually. Full rehabilitation not only includes physical but also mental treatment to overcome obstacles preventing one from completing their functional goals.”

Naomi's Healthcare Philosophy

I was always interested in the medical since a child. I do not have one incident that pushed me into the medical field. My older brother is a surgeon and helped guide me to my profession. He had me involved in medical externships in his hospitals every summer during high school. I was exposed to may fields of medicine during the summer and always was interested in the spine and neurology.

Naomi's Areas of Expertise

As a pain management physician assistant, Naomi treats patient's trigger points, orders appropriate diagnostic tests and reviews tests to help determine the best course of treatment. She also orders treatment options to help ease patient's pain.
