Biography
Dr. Victor Hong is a fellowship-trained orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon dedicated to helping patients restore mobility and relieve pain. His commitment to this field is deeply personal—he experienced persistent plantar fasciitis during military training, numerous ankle sprains and great toe arthritis from years of playing soccer, and painful Morton’s neuroma and Tailor’s bunion during medical school and residency. These challenges allow him to better relate to his patients and shape his belief that the best care begins with non-operative treatments, with surgery reserved only when truly necessary.
Born in South Korea and raised in Tennessee, Dr. Hong was awarded both academic and music scholarships at Southern Adventist University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a biomedical emphasis. He went on to attend the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, graduating with high honors and induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Hong completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California, where he served as chief resident at two high-volume Level I trauma centers. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, gaining extensive experience in minimally invasive techniques, arthroscopy, and complex reconstructive procedures of the foot and ankle.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Hong enjoys soccer, beach volleyball, road trips, and both calisthenics and weight training. His experiences as both an amateur athlete and a patient give him a unique perspective and empathy for patients striving to overcome injuries and return to the activities they love.
