She cares for a wide spectrum of active individuals—from recreational athletes to elite competitors—with a focus on restoring peak performance, preventing reinjury, and optimizing long-term joint health.
Dr. Trivellas grew up in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. Her mother is a plant pathologist from Pennsylvania, and her father is a chemical engineer from Greece. She attended Tower Hill School, where she thrived as a student-athlete and developed a lifelong passion for sports. She went on to play Division I lacrosse at Yale University, where she majored in Biology, conducted and published research in biomedical engineering, graduated from the Kiphuth Leadership Program, and competed in the finals of Yale’s Iron Chef competition.
She attended Penn State College of Medicine and completed an additional year of research at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City prior to her orthopedic surgery residency at UCLA, where she was elected Chief Resident. She then completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic
Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery at Duke University, where she cared for Duke Football, Men’s Basketball, and Women’s Lacrosse teams. During her time at Duke, she also graduated from the prestigious Feagin Leadership Program.
Dr. Trivellas has remained closely connected to athletics throughout her career, including serving as a lacrosse coach during medical school and residency. Her clinical expertise includes minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery, ligament and tendon repair, cartilage restoration, and joint preservation techniques. She takes a performance-driven approach to care, combining surgical precision with a comprehensive, individualized strategy that integrates rehabilitation, biomechanics, and return-to-sport planning.
She is known for delivering highly personalized, attentive care, ensuring that each patient—from competitive athletes to active individuals—receives a tailored treatment plan aligned with their specific goals and lifestyle. Dr. Trivellas works closely with physical therapists, athletic trainers, and performance specialists to support a safe, efficient, and confident return to activity.
Approachable and invested in her patients’ success, Dr. Trivellas takes time to understand not only the injury, but the person behind it. As a mother, she brings added perspective and empathy to her care, appreciating the importance of maintaining strength, mobility, and resilience to support both personal and family life.
Outside of work, Dr. Trivellas enjoys running, spending time outdoors, hiking, and cooking. Southern California’s year-round outdoor lifestyle drew her to the area. She also credits her middle school Spanish teacher for making learning Spanish both fun and competitive.
