Spine & Cervical Conditions:
Non-Surgical Treatment Options for Back & Neck Conditions
Different By Design
At Newport Orthopedic Institute, our team approach to spine conditions ensures our patients receive the best care and results. Our board-certified physical medicine & rehabilitation (PM&R) physiatrists are here to offer non-surgical options to treat your spine and back pain. This includes Fluoroscopic-guided (video X-ray device) pain management injections as well as local anesthetic nerve blocks to decrease pain in a specific area of your body before and after surgery. Living with chronic pain can have a negative impact on your daily life and general happiness. Let the spine doctors at Newport Orthopedic Institute help relieve your pain and get you back to the activities you enjoy.
How do I know if spine surgery is right for me?
When conservative (non-surgical) treatments such as medication, physical therapy, injections and exercise have been tried, but still do not alleviate your back or neck pain, it may be time to seriously consider undergoing back surgery. Your final decision to proceed with spine surgery or not, will greatly depend on the level of pain your are experiencing, the limitations to your normal daily activities, how extensive the surgery is and if there are any adverse complications if surgery is delayed (e.g. foot drop).
