Stay fit this Holiday Season and into the New Year

It’s that time of year we all fear! Well, maybe not fear, but we all know that it’s the season for sweets, treats, travel and staying fit hits the back burner. Here are some great tips for staying focused on your health this holiday season and going into the New Year.

Go On, Get Out There!
Instead of staying warm by the fire get warm being active outdoors. Try snowshoeing if you’re in the mountains, go for a hike with the family, build a snowman or igloos with the kids, and plan a fun family game like Frisbee tag.

Challenge yourself
Create challenges whether it involves trying a new bodyweight exercise, test different yoga poses, get up 30 minutes earlier and create a fun warm up with your family to get the day going. You’ll feel better and be on top of your game!

Go sightseeing, even in your own backyard
If you are traveling this holiday season plan to get out and see something new that requires walking and adventure. Even if you are staying home, we bet there are things you’ve been meaning to do or see, so take this time off to go explore and get those bones moving!

Get motivated with a buddy
Pick a friend or family member to keep you motivated this holiday season! Getting up at 6am is never fun, but when you have someone to do it with and push you, it helps. Set your alarm together and you’ll find having a support system makes getting fit more fun.
